Position the top fi nal limit switch
assembly in the desired location at the
top of the elevator hoistway. Only the
switch arm from the assembly must
make contact with the elevator and shall
fully actuate before the elevator hits any
obstruction. (i.e., ceiling, electrical and/
or mechanical part, etc.)
Fasten the fi nal limit switch assembly
to the hoistway with the appropriate
hardware.
Loosen the screw and open cover. Verify
the normally closed contacts with a
multi-meter.
Wire to the previously verifi ed normally
closed terminals. All wiring must meet
N.E.C. and local codes.
Note:
Do not over tighten
terminals. Terminals should be
torqued to 7lb-in max.
Verify the operation of the fi nal limit
switch.
Replace cover and refasten screw.
Adjust as necessary, the fi nal limit switch
assembly may move or need adjustment
after the elevator car is installed.
