Replacing a PROFIsafe I/O Module
Replacing a PROFIsafe I/O module with a PROFIsafe I/O module of the same
type is described in the following.
Replacing a PROFIsafe I/O module with an I/O module of another type is always
associated with a new project design (see section "Programming the Safe PLC").
10.1.1
Procedure
When replacing a PROFIsafe I/O module, first perform the following steps:
•
Switch off the supply voltage of the fieldbus node in which the I/O module
to be replaced is found.
•
Pull the I/O module to be replaced out of the fieldbus node (see section
"Inserting and Removing Devices").
•
Read the PROFIsafe address on the coding switch of the I/O module to be
replaced and apply this setting to the replacement I/O module.
•
Plug the replacement I/O module into the position of the I/O module to be
replaced in the fieldbus node.
•
Switch on again the supply voltage of the fieldbus node concerned.
Then perform the one of the following steps based on your system configuration:
•
If the setting of the coding switch of the I/O module to be replaced has a
value not equal to 0 and it is operated with iPar server functionality,
continue reading in section "I/O Module with iPar Server Functionality >
PROFIsafe Address Set Using the Coding Switch".
•
If the setting of the coding switch of the I/O module to be replaced has a
value equal to 0 and it is operated with iPar server functionality, continue
reading in section "I/O Module with iPar Server Functionality > PROFIsafe
Address Set Using the Parameterization Tool".
•
If the setting of the coding switch of the I/O module to be replaced has a
value not equal to 0 and it is not operated with iPar server functionality,
continue reading in section "I/O Module without iPar Server Functionality >
PROFIsafe Address Set Using the Parameterization Tool".
•
If the setting of the coding switch of the I/O module to be replaced has a
value equal to 0 and it is not operated with iPar server functionality,
continue reading in section "I/O Module without iPar Server Functionality >
PROFIsafe Address Set Using the Coding Switch".
