5.3.1
Preparation for travel in public traffic
•
Before you start travel, make sure that the ma-
chine complies with the relevant local regula-
tions.
•
Fork prongs of pallet forks must be dismantled
before undertaking trips in public traffic.
1. Secure the attachment:
–
Ensure that the bucket has been emptied and has been
lowered to transport position.
–
Put the tooth guard on the bucket.
2. Check the lighting system, and if applicable, the function
of the rotating beacon.
Switch on the headlights.
3. Adjust the attachment height for clearance with the road
surface, but not more than necessary for safe transport
to avoid visibility restrictions and reduced stability.
4. Do not travel with the loader arms completely raised to
avoid collision with overhead objects such as viaducts
and electrical power lines.
5. After adjusting the loader arm height, engage the travel
lock to prevent unintentional control activation.
6.
Confirm that the seat belt is properly adjusted.
7. Survey the surrounding area to ensure that moving into
traffic can be done safely.
