Threading the upper thread

What do I do with the upper thread?

Push the small spool cap (a) tightly onto the spool (b).

The

spool

must run and

lie

smoothly without sticking.

Unwind approx. 30 cm of thread from the spool. Hold the thread on the spool

taut. Pull the upper thread tightly into the thread guides 1 to 2.

Guide the thread to the front and thread it from right to left towards 3.

Guide the thread to the left and pull it taut into the slot down towards 4.

Guide the thread from right to left and pull it taut up towards 5.
