Lift the presser foot and cut off the remaining threads to a length of approx.
10 cm.

Pull the lower thread to bring the upper thread to the left-hand side of the
fabric and knot the threads.

After sewing, move the drop feed lever to the right and turn the hand wheel
forwards (towards you) five times (the feed dogs are up again).
Note:
To sew on a button with 4 holes, follow the procedure described above for
the first two holes only. Then lift the presser foot slightly and move the fabric to
sew the other two holes, either independently or crosswise.
Shank
Buttons sewn onto jackets or coats often have a shank, which creates a space
between the fabric and the button. Place a pin or sewing machine needle
between the holes on the button and sew over the needle.
Pull the thread to the back of the button and wind it around the stitches to get a
firm shank. Knot the ends.
