17. Measuring the internal resistance
The charger can display the internal resistance of the connected battery.
When a lithium battery is connected, the charger can also display the internal resistance of each cell, provided that
the battery has a balancer terminal that is connected to the charger.
Follow the steps below:
•
From the main menu, use the "INC." or "DEC." buttons to select "BATT
RESISTANCE".
• Press the "ENTER/START" button to confirm your selection.
•
The charger will measure the internal resistance of the connected battery.
•
The internal resistance will appear on the display after a few seconds.
•
If a lithium battery with a balancer terminal is connected to the battery,
"Total" will appear on the display rather than "Main". To view the internal
resistance of the individual cells, press the "INC." or "DEC." buttons.
•
The right-hand picture indicates a 4-cell lithium battery ("0" appears when
no cells are detected).
•
To measure the internal resistance of another battery, press the "BATT./
STOP" button to exit measuring mode and return to the main menu, and
then repeat the above steps.
If the internal resistance of the connected battery is too high, the measuring function will not work and no
measurements will be displayed. This may occur with old or defective batteries or excessive contact resist-
ances in the battery connector.
18. Connecting the charger to a PC
The USB connection cable and Windows software is not included with the product and is available sepa-
rately.
For instructions on how to use the software, refer to the information on the software CD or the help feature.
