• To change the charging current, press the "ENTER/START" button. The charging current will start to flash. Press the
"INC." and "DEC." buttons to change the current. Hold down the button to move through the values more quickly.
• Press the "ENTER/START" button to confirm the charging current.
The maximum possible charging current depends on the battery type, number of cells and the maximum
charging capacity of the charger.
•
Hold down the "ENTER/START" button for approximately 3 seconds to start
the charging cycle.
The charger will check the specifications of the connected battery.
If the settings are wrong, or if the charger detects a problem, the charger will beep and a message will be
shown on the display. Press the "BATT./STOP" button to silence the charger and go back to the previous
settings menu.
•
The display shows the following data during the charging cycle:
The battery type is shown in the top-left of the display ("NiMH" = NiMH bat-
tery). The charging current is shown in the middle of the top line, and the
current battery voltage is shown in the top-right corner.
The current battery program is shown in the bottom-left of the display ("CHG" = "CHARGE"). The elapsed time
is shown in the middle of the bottom line, and the charged capacity (in mAh) is shown in the bottom-right corner.
•
The charger beeps when charging is complete (provided that this feature has not been disabled).
To stop the charging cycle, press the "BATT./STOP" button.
c) Automatic charging mode ("Auto CHARGE")
In automatic mode, the charger checks the status of the battery (e.g. the inter-
nal resistance) and calculates the charging current accordingly. An upper limit
for the charging current must be set to avoid damaging the battery.
Depending on the battery and its internal resistance, the charging time for "Auto CHARGE" mode may be shorter than
"CHARGE" mode (see section 12. b).
Configure the settings in the same way as "CHARGE" mode (see section 12. b).
The only difference is that you do not need to select the actual charging current. You only need to set a limit
for the maximum charging current.
