WARNING
Remove spilt fluid with absorbing, non-flammable material
(binding agent).
Dispose of materials which are soaked with fluid, e.g. cloths or
binding agents, in a suitable container which can be closed,
observe hazardous material regulations!
– If fluid has been extracted from the additive container system,
fill used fluid of extraction unit -VAS 6277/1- into empty original
container of new fluid. Observe hazardous material regula‐
tions!
WARNING
Always store additive fluid in the original container in a dry and
well ventilated area.

Diesel particulate filter: Reading the ash
load
Note
When checking the diesel particulate filter, read the ash load limit.
– Connect vehicle diagnosis tester .
– Switch on ignition.
– Select „Guided function“ mode on the display.
– Perform identification of vehicle.
– Select vehicle system „Engine“.
– Then, check the „ash load of the diesel particulate filter“.
Follow instructions on display.
Alternative:
– Select function „Self-diagnosis“ on display.
– Read measured value block 104/1.
Limit value for ash mass is 0.46.
When the limit is reached, renew diesel particulate filter.

Automatic gearbox: Check ATF level
– Procedure: „Power transmission“ ⇒ Rep. gr. 37 „Checking
ATF level and topping up-“
4.7
Battery cut-off relay: Remove
♦ The battery cut-off relay protects the battery from discharging
by electrical consumers not required during transportation
from manufacturer to dealer.
♦ The battery cut-off relay must be removed at delivery inspec‐
tion. Return delivery is discontinued. Dispose of battery cut-off
relay in compliance with disposal regulations.
