use for configuring before scanning.

TWAIN

—The Basic Interface or Advanced Interface opens for you 

to configure the scanning. See “Scanning From the Basic TWAIN 
Interface” on page 85 or “Scanning From the Advanced TWAIN 
Interface” on page 87.

WIA

—The Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) interface opens for 

you to configure the scanning. The WIA option is only available if 
your computer is running Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 
Vista. See “Scanning from the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) 
Interface” on page 99.
