Troubleshooting Tips Table 5-1 describes some trouble symptoms you may encounter with the VDP-80-720, along
with their possible causes and suggested corrective actions.
If you encounter an issue not described here or in Section 3 (refer to Installation
Considerations on page 15), or if the suggested solutions fail to resolve the problem, please
contact your Vidikron dealer or Vidikron Technical Support.

The VDP-80-720 does not turn
on after initial installation. • The VDP-80-720 is not
plugged in or the AC outlet
is not active.
• The remote control
batteries have run out.
• Ensure that the VDP-80-720
is plugged in and that the
AC outlet is active.
• Replace the batteries.
The VDP-80-720 is on, but
there is no picture and
on-screen menus do not
appear. • Display device is not turned
on.
• Display device is connected
incorrectly or not at all.
• Incorrect input selection on
the display device.
• Turn on the display device.
• Check connections to
display device.
• Select the correct input on
the display device.
The VDP-80-720 is on and
menus appear, but there is no
picture. • Source component is not
turned on.
• Source component is
connected incorrectly or
not at all.
• Incorrect source selection.
• Digital source is
HDCP-encrypted.
• Turn on the source
component.
• Check connections to
source component.
• Select the correct source.
• Ensure that the display
device supports HDCP on
its digital input.
Image is too bright and/or
lacks definition in the bright
areas of the image. • Contrast is set too high. • Lower the contrast setting.
Image appears “washed out”
and/or dark areas appear too
bright. • Brightness is set too high. • Lower the brightness
setting.
