User Info
The appliance supports target interdiction for all recognized Service Processors (SP). This feature allows you to store and
manage passwords for each SP target. Enable this security feature by manually or automatically creating a password that is
stored within the appliance.
The target interdiction feature operates in either User mode or Host mode. The User mode allows you to manually change
the password for the Service Processor. In this mode, the user creates and confirms the password manually. For even more
security, enable the Host mode, which allows the appliance to control the SP by creating and securely storing the password.
When the SP is in Host mode, the password is shielded from all users and users can only access the SP via the appliance. As
a fail safe, a rescue account can regain control of the SP if the appliance looses communication with the SP or generates an
error while SP is in Host mode.
An administrator must create a rescue account before using the target interdiction feature. The following processes help you
set up a rescue account, enable the Host mode and regain control of the SP via the User mode.
