6.10 Dispensing with a Heater
The Microdispensing System MDS 3200
+
can optionally be equipped with a nozzle heater.
Two distinct options
(MDH-230te and MDH-230tf)
are available. If a heater is connected to
the system, the main menu shows the current temperature
(in °C)
instead of “Ready”. More
detailed information about the menu, while using a heater, you can find in the chapters
4.1.5 and 6.10.2.
CAUTION! (High temperatures)
The nozzle heater can reach temperatures of up to 120 °C. Don’t touch this area during op-
eration. And afterwards only touch it once it has cooled down.
With a heater you can control the dynamical viscosity of the fluid to be dispensed. For some
liquids dispensing without heating is impossible. Heating may also be required to ensure a
constant process temperature, or when the dispensing has to take place above room tem-
perature.
INFORMATION!
The heater MDH-230tf is available in the variants MDH-230-tfl and MDH-230tfr (
see picture
below for an example of a MDH-230tfl)
. The “l” resp. “r” in the name stands for “left angled”
resp. “right angled”, since both versions of the heater differ from each other only in their
geometry.
