MCP-8I Quick Start Guide
Glue Pattern Correction Explained
What is the Glue Pattern Correction?
Each Inspection channel has its own set of parameters for the Glue Correction Start and Glue
Correction End. For the CGS Sensor, the Start & End Corrections have a Default of -8mm. The
Default for all other sensor types is 0mm.

How does Glue Correction Work?
Glue correction is useful when the inspection software is not properly identifying the Pattern’s
Glue Start and the Pattern’s Glue Length (also referred to as the Pattern’s Glue End). The Glue
Correction Start and End Parameters are meant to be one of the last parameters to be tweaked.
They should only have to +/-5mm from their default setting. So, the Inspection process should
be properly identifying a majority of the pattern. Since the mouth of the CGS-40 sensor is so
wide, it is common that the inspection identifies a Glue Pattern that is larger than the actual Glue
Pattern on the product. That is where the Glue Correction Start and End come into play.
