When lowering down the spare wheel, it is required to hang reduction gear 2
on platform side bracket 1, and fix rope 4 loop to catch 5 located on lever 6.
For your safety pull on the reduction gear rope by turning detachable handle
3. Undo nuts 8 and remove straps 9 fastening tilting bracket 7 to the frame. Slightly
slack off the rope tensioning and disengage tilting bracket 7 from the pawl.
Lower down the spare wheel holder by turning handle 3 of reduction gear 2.
Slack off the rope, remove reduction gear 2 from the platform side and without
disconnecting rope 4 from rope catch 5, remove the spare wheel from the tilting
bracket. The spare wheel should be lifted and fixed for transportation in the reverse
order.
The pawl for fixing the tilting bracket is located on the truck frame to the right
of the spare wheel holder.
STEERING
Steering comprises steering column, steering gear, steering linkage and hy-
draulic booster.
Two variants of steering can be applied on the trucks: with steering gear of
“worm - side segment” type, or of “screw - ball nut–rack - segment” type. In
this case cardan shafts 7 (Fig. 56) and 10 (Fig. 57) differ in length.
