10.2.2. ADJUSTMENT OF THE SOWING MACHINE BOTTOMS.
Each bottom /

/ pressed with a finger and next released should
return to its original position; in case of a seizure it is allowable to put a few drops of
olive oil between the walls and the bottom. Then the lever of bottoms /Figure 15/
must be set to the first low leaf and make sure that the gap between the bottoms and
the sowing wheels is the same. The correct gap is measured with the use of a
measuring device
1
according to the following procedure:
- put the measuring device on a cylindrical surface of the sowing wheel and move it
downwards; if the bottoms are adjusted and set in a correct way the tip of the
measuring device will easily fit between the sowing wheel and the resilient bottom
and when the movement is continued, the extension of the measuring device tip
1
should cause a slight resilient deflection of the bottom.
In case the different gap spacer, the adjustment must be performed. To do this it is
required to tighten or loosen the adjusting screw 2.
10.2.3. ADJUSTING AND SETTING THE LEVER OF A GEAR BOX AND THE
LEVERS OF BOTTOMS.
The adjusting and setting of the gear box (Figure 16) and the bottom levers
(Figure15) is performed according to instructions included in the Table of Sowing.
To adjust and set the number of seed during sowing the stepless gear box lever, the
bottom lever and the position of a gate must reflect the instructions included in the
Table of Sowing. To adjust the gear box, the machine operator should use the lever
and the 0 – 40 scale. The gear box is set to the ratio which enables to adjust the
lever within the range 1 to 35 (±1 on the scale).
With increasing the range, more number of seeds is going to be sown. The range
makes it possible to sow the number of seeds which is concordant with agro-
technical requirements.
In case that seals placed on the gear box are removed and the gear box
is deregulated the amounts of seed during sowing will change in comparison
to those included in the Table of Sowing and, what is also important, any repair
works concerning the gear box will not be performed within the warranty
conditions.
Data included in the Table of Sowing should be treated as reference
information only!
In order to achieve precisely required number of seed to be sown in case of 1
hectare, a turning test must be performed.
