10.2.4. FILLING THE SEED BOX WITH SEED.
The box should be filled with seed with the use of mechanical of pneumatically
loading devices with which the AMBER sowing machine is not equipped. Such
loading devices are available to be purchased. It is also possible, if safety measures
are strictly followed, to load the seed box manually with seed placed in sacks loading
the seed from a trailer. The trailer must be placed at the side of the sowing machine.
Seed loading can be also performed with the use of a bridge or a ladder.
Warning! It is strictly forbidden to stay on other machine elements
except for the bridge. It is strictly forbidden to stay on any element of
the sowing machine at the time it is operated. The procedures connected with
seed loading and unloading can be performed only at times the machine is not
operated and a tractor’s engine is switched off.
After seed is loaded into the box it must be leveled with the use of a blade –
to be
done only when the sowing machine is not on the move.
10.2.5. PERFORMANCE OF A TURNING TEST

As the seed of the same type differs with regard to its size and weight, the data
includes in the Table of Sowing must be treated as reference and approximate
information. To achieve precisely required number of seeds to be sown on 1 hectare
the turning test must be performed:.
The following procedure must be followed:
- adjust the gear box, bottom lever and gates according to instructions given in the
Table of Sowing in this User’s Manual,
- fill the box with seed,
- release the wires rack and move it downstairs and put the measuring channel in its
place, Figure 7 and Figure, page 18,
- put a crank on a gear box shaft,
- make a few turnings with the crank in order to fill the sowing devices with seed,
- empty measuring channels,
- sow the seeds into the channel through turning the crank in clockwise direction.
In case of the working width of 3.0 meters, the number of turnings if the crank
have been given in the Table of Sowing. In case of sowing on the surface
area of 1 or 2 acres, the number of turnings of the crank and the number of
seeds will be 100 or 50 times smaller respectively.

If the actual number of sown seed differs from the required number, then the
gear box setting must be properly corrected.
