PRECAUTIONS
•
The liquid contained within the display is toxic. If the module breaks and liquid comes
out, avoid touching it with your hands or any other parts of the body, especially the eyes
and mouth. In the event of any contact, wash immediately with soap and water.
•
Avoid exposing the LCD monitor to direct sunlight or intense ultra violet radiation for long
periods of time; these will cause it to deteriorate.
•
The device must be kept in a location where the temperature is greater than its minimum
storage temperature. If not, the liquid crystal could solidify, resulting in damage to the
monitor. Temperatures in excess of the maximum storage temperature must also be
avoided, as these could cause the liquid crystal to irreversibly return to it isotropic state.
•
The service department is frequently called upon to intervene in the event of internal
short-circuiting. This may occur whenever any foreign objects (even extremely small
ones) are able to enter the device, despite all of the precautions taken to prevent this
from happening. When abutting coaxial cables, therefore, it is recommended to avoid
doing so in the immediate vicinity of the device, as even tiny pieces of wire from the
braided sheath could enter the unit and result in occasional short circuiting. Such issues
cannot be easily detected by technical service personnel.
1.3.
MAINTENANCE
Any operations involving the opening of the device and interventions upon its internal
components must only be carried out by qualified personnel or, regardless, personnel with
basic knowledge of electronics and electrical safety.
•
Disconnect the power cable before initiating any operations.
•
For devices equipped with batteries, please refer to the notes in section 1.1.
•
Replace the fuses with the types and values specified.
•
Be careful to avoid making contact with any circuits, as these can maintain an electrical
charge even when not connected to the electrical power supply (capacitors).
•
Use appropriate means to prevent the accumulation of electrostatic charges. It is
recommended to avoid touching the device's internal circuits before having put on the
appropriate antistatic wrist strap.
•
In order to clean the external components:
1)
Disconnect the power cable.
2)
Use soft cloths. Employ non-aggressive liquid detergents, avoiding the use of
hydrocarbon-based substances.
3)
Do not allow any liquids or other substances to penetrate inside the instrument.
