BANDWIDTH: selects the bandwidth for the subcarrier. The following values are
available: narrow (for stereo channels), medium (for normal mono channels), wide
(for over-modulated channels) and extra wide (for extremely high deviation
channels).
In order to carry out the configuration:

Select BANDWIDTH from the SOUND menu and press
ENTER

Turn the Shaft Encoder to select the desired value and press
ENTER

Press the
SOUND
button to exit.

DE-EMPHASIS: selects the type of de-emphasis. The available options are:
Flat, j17, 50µs, 75µs.
In order to carry out the configuration:

Select DE-EMPHASIS from the SOUND menu and press
ENTER

Turn the Shaft Encoder to select the desired de-emphasis and press
ENTER
.
Press the
SOUND
button to exit.

SPECTRUM ANALYZER
In order to configure the device as a spectrum analyzer, press the
SPECT.
button.
It is possible to perform the partial and total exploration of all the terrestrial TV bands, as
well as the SAT band.
Press the
MENU
button. The menu for configuring the following functions will appear on
the right hand side of the screen.
•
SPAN
:
used for selecting the band exploration method; allows for the selected band
to be explored either partially or entirely.
•
BW FILTER
: used to select the width of the measurement filter (1 MHz or 100 kHz).
•
VIDEO F.
:
used to enable or disable the video filter.
•
BAND
: used to select the TV or SAT band to be viewed.
•
MARKER
: used to select the marker setting: analogue for level measurement, digital
for power measurement.
In order to make a selection, turn the SHAFT ENCODER to highlight the desired item and
press
ENTER
to confirm. The indicated value will flash. Turn the shaft encoder to select the
desired value and press
ENTER
to confirm.
To exit the menu and return to normal operating mode, press the
MENU
button.

USING THE MARKERS
Press the
2nd
+
MKR
buttons to activate a second marker (yellow), which can also be
positioned within the spectrum of the selected band. In addition to the absolute signal
levels in correspondence to the two markers, the frequency deviation between the markers
and the difference in the levels of the marked signals will also be shown on the screen.
Two information lines (yellow for marker 1 and red for marker 2) are used to display the
information regarding each marker.
Press the
2nd
+
MKR (SPECT)
buttons again to invert the selection between the active
marker and the fixed marker. A triangle at the beginning of the information line indicates
the active marker.
In this operating mode, the two markers can be used to measure the distance in frequency
between the two markers themselves, as well as the difference in the levels of the marked
signals.
Press the
2nd
+
MKR
button a third time to bring the instrument back to its normal
operating mode.
