6.4.2 Canada compliance statement (ISED)
NORA-W36 series modules are certified for use in accordance with Innovation, Science and Economic
Development Canada (ISED) Radio Standards Specification (RSS) RSS-247 Issue 2 and RSS-Gen.
Table 8 shows the ISED certification IDs allocated to NORA-W36 series modules.

NORA-W36 complies with ISED (Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada) 5 license-
exempt RSS(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
1. This device may not cause interference, and
2. This device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired
operation of the device.

Any notification to the end user of installation or removal instructions about the integrated radio
module is NOT allowed. Unauthorized modification could void authority to use this equipment.
This equipment complies with ISED RSS-102 radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled
environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with minimum distance 20 cm
between the radiator and your body.
This radio transmitter IC: 8595A-NORAW3 has been approved by ISED to operate with the antenna
types listed in the
Pre-approved antenna list with the maximum permissible gain indicated. Antenna
types not included in this list, having a gain greater than the maximum gain indicated for that type,
are strictly prohibited for use with this device.

Operation in the band 5150 – 5250 MHz is only for indoor use to reduce the potential for harmful
interference to co-channel mobile satellite systems.

Operation in the 5600-5650 MHz band is not allowed in Canada. High-power radars are allocated
as primary users (i.e., priority users) of the bands 5250-5350 MHz and 5650-5850 MHz and that
these radars could cause interference and/or damage to LE-LAN devices.
