4.7 SR - ADJUSTING BRAKE CALIPERS
NUMBERED ITEMS
1. Caliper Fastener
TOOLS / CONSUMABLES REQUIRED
• 5mm Allen Key
• 5mm Allen Key Socket
• Torque Wrench
PROCESS STEPS
1. While the Bike is raised, turn the wheel and inspect the Brake Disc using the
method outlined on Page 34
2. If there is a large quantity of lateral movement of the Brake Disc while turning
the Wheel it may not be possible to adjust the Brake Caliper and the Brake
Disc may need replacement.
3. Using a 5mm Allen Key , loosen the Caliper Fasteners until the Caliper is able to
move side to side
4. Pull on the Brake Lever Blade and while pressure is still being applied, using a
5mm Allen Key , tighten the Caliper Fasteners
5. Release the Brake Lever Blade and test for Brake Pad rub by spinning the
Wheel
