Operation schedule
It is up to you to start with headland spreading or with a full
field operation.
(Follow the instructions supplied with the CENTRASIDE
â
headland
sprea- ding attachment if you are going to use the CENTRASIDE
â
attachment for headland spreading.)
Full field operation:
- Start the first passage at 1½ x working width from the
side (fig. 17).
- Open the feed shutters as soon as you are roughly 1½ x
working width away from the plot border.
- Drive up to roughly ½ x working width from the
headland end and close the shutters.
Headland spreading:
- Start the passage at half the working width from the side.
For headland spreading the CENTERLINER spreader
only needs to be tilted.
- Use the headland spreading setting for applying fertilizer
to the headlands.
- Open the feed shutters as soon as you are roughly 1x
working width away from the plot border.
- Drive up to roughly ½ x working width from the
headland end and close the shutters.
5.3
Check of spreading width
During spreading, the fertilizer should roughly attain the
preceding track (only for working widths up to approx. 21 m
that do not require a forward inclination of the CENTER-
LINER spreader). Because of the fourfold overlap of the
spreading patterns, minor differences will hardly affect the
distribution of fertilizer.
If there is a substantial difference, the following checks
should be carried out:
- the working width was measured correctly;
- correct working height of the spreader;
- correct adjustment of machine inclination;
- damage/wear and tear of spinner discs, spoons or feed
device;
- correct assembly of spoons on the spinner discs (fig. 18).
The spoons of the left spinner disc are turned in an angle
of 45° in respect of the spoons of the right spinner disc;
- relationship between output chart used and fertilizer
applied.
There may also be differences (granular shape, size and
weight) between the fertilizer applied and the material
used during spreading tests for establishing the output
charts (other quality or brand).
