Intermittent maintenance
Intermittent maintenance has to be carried out:
• at the start of the spreading season;
• before prolonged storage of the machine;
• when the machine is used extensively during the season.
- Grease the PTO shaft.
- Grease the profile tubes of the PTO shaft.
- Grease the spring-loaded locking pins of the yoke lock of
the PTO shaft.
- Check if the PTO shaft telescopes smoothly. A damaged
PTO shaft may cause excessive wear and tear to the
machine and tractor.
- Grease the pivoting points of the feed assembly.
- Check the machine for damage and flaws.
- Check the condition of the spinner discs and spoons.
When fitting spoons: mind the correct position (see
fig. 18). Tighten the bolts with a torque of 15 Nm (1,5 kgm)
as a maximum.
- Check all bolts and nuts for tightness. Tighten loose
bolts/nuts by applying the forces listed in the schedule
below.

- Check the functioning and adjustment of the feed device.
• Open and close the feed mechanism by means of the
mechanical or hydraulic control. This procedure should
run off smoothly across the whole calibration scale.
• Close the feed mechanism. The feed gates should now be
totally closed.
- Place the round end of the locking pin in hole 3B (fig. 22).
Open the feed mechanism. The edge of the shutter should
be on a par with the points of the feed gate (fig. 23).
