Using the driver

Once the driver has been installed, it is possible to save the photographs and video
clips via the removable disk or with one of the applications via the TWAIN driver. This
chapter explains how you can download photographs onto your computer with a 4
Mega Pixel resolution.

9.1 

Using the removable disk

Carry out the following.
1. 

Open Windows Explorer.

2. 

Open ‘My Computer’. All of your computer’s available disks will be displayed.

3. 

If you do not have any similar devices installed on your computer, the disk
entitled ‘Removable disk’ is the Trust camera.

4. 

Double-click on the ‘Removable disk’. Your photographs will appear in
Windows Explorer.

5. 

Double-click on a file if you wish to view it. The photograph or video will be
displayed in your default photograph editing program or video viewer.

6. 

If you wish to save a photograph, click on the file you wish to save and select
‘Edit – Copy’ from the menu bar.

7. 

Go to the location on your computer where you wish to save the photograph
or video clip.

8. 

Select ‘Edit – Paste’ from the menu bar.

9. 

The photograph or video clip has now been saved.

10. 

It is also possible to delete a photograph or video clip using Windows
Explorer. Select a photograph that you wish to delete and press the ‘Del’ or
‘Delete’ key on your keyboard.

11. 

A window will appear in which you must confirm the deletion of the file. Click
on ‘Yes’ if you wish to delete the file.

9.2 

Saving 4 Mega Pixel photographs

The TWAIN driver allows you to download photographs with an interpolated
resolution. This means that the resolution will be increased using software. Carry out
the following to save 4 a Mpix photograph.
1. 

Take a photograph with a resolution of 1600 x 1200 (2Mpix). See chapter 6
for instructions on how to change the resolution of a photograph.

2. 

Connect the camera as described in chapter 7.3.1.

3. 

Click on ‘Start – Programs – ArcSoft – ArcSoft PhotoImpression 3.0 –
PhotoImpression 3.0’.

4. 

Click once on ‘Get photo’ (A, figure 5).

5. 

Select the ‘Camera/scanner’ option in the bottom left-hand corner (F, figure
5).

6. 

‘Select source’ must be displayed for ‘Camera Twain DS’.

7. 

Click on the ‘Acquire’ button (H, figure 5).

8. 

The TWAIN window will appear (see figure 6).

9. 

Select the photograph which was taken in a resolution of 2 Mpix.

10. 

Click on the transfer button (E, figure 6) to transfer the photograph to
PhotoImpression. A ‘SELECT TRANSFER SIZE!!’ window will appear.

11. 

Select ‘LARGE’. The photograph will be transferred to PhotoImpression as a 4
mega Pixel photograph. Close the TWAIN window by clicking on the cross (I,
figure 6).

12. 

The photograph will be displayed as a thumbnail at the bottom of the
PhotoImpression window (I, figure 5). 

13. 

Double-click on the photograph. The photograph will appear larger in the
middle of the window.

14. 

Click on ‘SAVE’ (D, figure 5) on the left-hand side of the window. Select ‘Save
As’ under the photograph.

15. 

Specify the location where you wish to save the 4 Mpix photograph.
