Are the originals set correctly?

Is paper curled, folded or wrinkled?
Is there any misfed paper or loose scraps
of paper remaining inside the copier?
Is the separation in the paper feed sec-
tion dirty?

To change the overall exposure, perform the
auto exposure adjustment.
Adjust the exposure to the correct degree
using the copy exposure adjustment keys.
To change the overall exposure, perform the
exposure adjustment for the each copy qual-
ity mode.
Clean the platen and/or the original cover.
Open the front cover and pull and push back
in the cleaning shaft.
Clean the transfer roller with the cleaning
brush.
When setting originals on the platen, align
their edges with the correct original size
scale for their size.
When setting originals in the optional Docu-
ment Processor, adjust the original insertion
guides to the size of the originals correctly.
Set paper properly.
Replace the paper with new paper.
Carry out the appropriate procedure to re-
move the paper.
Clean the separator.
