If the reso l ver readouts become errat i c w i th antenna mot i on, ( i .e., the readout
funct i ons proper l y through a certa i n angu l ar range, but beg i ns to f li cker and ro ll ,
l arge j umps occur, etc), a bad connect i on i s usua ll y the cause. Th i s occurs because
a sma ll s i gna l i s be i ng coup l ed i nto the very h i gh i mpedance i nput of the RD C,
caus i ng the system to behave errat i ca ll y.

W hen the reso l ver readouts do not change w hen the A C U commands the antenna
to move, an ax i s i mmob il e error w ill occur (un l ess Mot i on li m i ts are d i sab l ed). Refer
to paragraph 6.1 for further troub l eshoot i ng procedures.

If the reso l ver readouts are vary i ng rap i d l y (sp i nn i ng), or i f the reso l ver i s j ump i ng
by l arge i ncrements, determ i ne i f the prob l em i s i n the A C U or the reso l ver ( + cab l e)
by fo ll o w i ng these steps:
1. Connect a spare reso l ver to A C U, i f ava il ab l e.
2. If there i s another reso l ver of the same type i n the system, (e.g., i f there i s a
prob l em w i th az i muth reso l ver, the az i muth and e l evat i on reso l vers are of the
same type), d i sab l e mot i on errors, and s w i tch the reso l ver cab l es at the back of
the A C U. Manua ll y run the antenna and see i f mot i on i s apparent.
a. If mot i on i s detected, the prob l em i s i n the A C U. If a spare RD C card i s
ava il ab l e, change i t out w i th the o l d one. If the prob l em st ill ex i sts, contact
V ertex.
b. If no mot i on i s detected, buzz out cab l e. If the cab l e i s good, rep l ace the
reso l ver. Check for w ater i n the reso l vers.

If an Ax i s i mmob il e error i s d i sp l ayed on the A C U, check for the fo ll o w i ng
cond i t i ons:
1. Sett i ng of I mmob il e / r e v e r s e d t i m e out [ ms ] parameter i s too l o w -- reset
parameter.
