4.11 Hard Disk Test
CAUTION:
The contents of the hard disk will be erased when Subtest 02, 03, 04, 06, 08, 09,
or 10 is executed. Before running the test, transfer the contents of the hard disk to floppy
disks. This can be done with the Toshiba MS-DOS BACKUP command. After the test,
execute the Toshiba MS-DOS FDISK command, which will partition the hard disk drive.
Then execute the Toshiba MS-DOS FORMAT command. Refer to the Toshiba MS-DOS
manual for details.
OPERATION
1.
When you select the Hard Disk Test from the DIAGNOSTIC TEST MENU, the following
message will appear.
Test drive number select (1:HDD#1,2:HDD#2,0:HDD1&2) ?
2.
Select the hard disk drive number to be tested and press
Enter
. The following message will
appear.
HDC F/W error retry (1:yes,2:no) ?
3.
This message is used to select the retry operation when the hard disk controller detects an
error. Type in 1 or 2 and press
Enter
. The following message will appear.
Data compare error dump (1:no,2:yes) ?
4.
This message is used to select the error dump operation when a data compare error is de-
tected. Type in 1 or 2 and press
Enter
. The following message will appear.
Detail status display (1:no,2:yes) ?
5.
This message is used to select whether or not the HDD status is displayed on the screen. The
HDD status is described in Section 4.15. Type in 1 or 2 and press
Enter
. The HARD DISK
TEST menu will appear.
