Nozzles flow rate and droplet size
Flow rate and droplet size depend on the following factors:
• Pump pressure
• Numbe of nozzles in use
• Type of nozzle (color).

NOZZLES CALIBRATION
Calibration
To determine the type of nozzle to be used for treatments based on the quantity of product to be distributed described on the
nozzle label, apply the following formula:

P = Flow rate of each nozzle in litre/minute (l/min)
Q = Volume of the mixture to be distributed in litres per hectare (l/ha)
V = Vehicle speed in kilometres per hour (Km/h)
G = Range in metres (m)
N = Number of nozzles used
From the nozzle flow chart, the type of nozzle that meets the calculated flow characteristics, compatibly with the pressure limits
at which it operates correctly, will be chosen, i.e. it will produce a quantity of drops of adequate size for the treatment to be carried
out.
Calibration Check
Since the delivery rate of the nozzles is not always exact, it is advisable to check the calibration.
There are 2 ways to do it:
1 Using the special TIFONE AMBIENTE “Spraymeter” flow meter, the check will be accurate, instantaneous and continuous
(optional).
2 Filling the tank completely and up to a specific level. Then perform a spraying test for 2 minutes.
By means of a measuring jug, then fill the tank back up to the pre-set level. The amount added is the delivery over 2 minutes.
