Clean the ATR Crystal Plate
Use a clean, dry, non-abrasive cloth or tissue to clean the ATR Crystal.
WARNING
Avoid toxic inhalation and ingestion.
Zinc selenide (ZnSe) is toxic. Refer to the manufacturer's ZnSe Safety Data
Sheet at www.specac.com for handling and exposure controls.
Wear protective gloves when cleaning or replacing the crystal plate.
1. Using a clean cloth or tissue, blot any liquid off the crystal. Discard the used tissue.
2. With a transfer pipette, apply a few drops of heptane to the crystal and area around the crystal.
3. With a new, clean tissue, wipe along the length of the crystal to clean up any liquids. Wipe the
area around the crystal trough.
4. Repeat as needed, always finishing with a clean, dry cloth or tissue.
