5. Before loading the vial in the carousel, shake off any liquid that has
been forced into the cap socket.
NOTE Do not use laboratory wipes to blot liquid from the
cap sockets; wipes leave fibers which can
accumulate in the liquid flow path and cause
increased backpressure.
3.2
Turning on the Power
To turn on the autosampler power, press the power switch on the Dionex AS-DV
rear panel (see
At power-up, the sampling needle is homed (the needle is raised) and the carousel
is homed (vial position 1 is moved under the sampling head tower).
3.3
Loading the Vial Carousel
Raise the Dionex AS-DV top cover and press the
Carousel Release
button on the inside of the
chassis. Pressing the
Carousel Release
button is
required for two purposes:
•
To disengage the carousel from the motor.
•
To reset vial memory (clear presence, vial size,
and volume remaining information). Before
starting a run, always press
Carousel Release
to reset the vial information.
1. If you are using 0.5 mL vials, insert a vial adapter onto the vial.
2. Load the vials into the carousel. You can place the vials in any order. The
Chromeleon sequence (see
) determines the order in which vials
are sampled. If you are using a reserved range of positions for rinse vials (see
), place the rinse vials in the designated positions.
Before starting a run, always press the
Carousel Release
button to
disengage the carousel and reset the vial information. After loading
the vials in the carousel, press the
Carousel Release
button again to
engage the carousel.
