a. “Remove any plugs from N.I.S.T port”

i. If there is any plug attached on the N.I.S.T.-plug on the rear

side of the TII-System (see Figure 3-24), the program will
request you to remove it from this rear side plug connector.

ii. After the removal of the plug, select “OK” to confirm removal.

b. “Install N.I.S.T. module E1403X5!”

i. The program requests the installation of the N.I.S.T. module

into the N.I.S.T. plug on the rear side of the TII-System (see
Figure 3-24)

ii. After the installation of the N.I.S.T. module, the installation

has to be confirmed by selecting “OK”.

7. After confirming the installation of the N.I.S.T. module, the display

will show the message “In Process”. The message “In Process” will
blink during the duration of the calibration.

Note

The calibration “In Process” will take up to five minutes to complete.

During that time, the module must be plugged into the TII system.

8. Once the calibration is complete, one of two messages will be

displayed:

a. “N.I.S.T. calibration passed” – indicates that the calibration was

successful. With that message the new N.I.S.T. offsets are
automatically saved and will be used for all resistivity calculations.
To view the determined offsets, access the submenu “Show Offset”

i. To confirm the result, select “OK”.

ii. After this confirmation, the “N.I.S.T. Calibration” Menu will

appear and you can navigate back to the main menu.

b. “Calibration out of Tolerances” - indicates that the calibration

failed. The calibration can be out of tolerance when the resistivity
deviation is larger than 1.5M Ohm-cm and/or the temperature
deviation is larger than 0.67 °C. The current calibration values will
be shown in the text message. These values will not be saved.
