Appendix
Basic Studio Setup with xNode I/O
In cases where VX is installed into analog or AES/EBU patch-fields, audio xNodes will be needed to get audio into the system as
well as GPIO xNodes for signaling. In this example, we will set up 2 caller faders with 2 separate Mix Minus inputs. We will be
using a Multi-Purpose or Mixed-Signal xNode which contains I/O for Analog, AES/EBU, and GPIO.
First thing to do is to set up the xNode sources. In the xNode’s Simple Setup page, there are three modes:
Stereo 4x4
,
Mono
8x8
and
Custom
. Because caller channels are mono, we can take advantage of the Mono 8x8 mode.
This adds 4 more source and destination fields that will need to have channel numbers assigned. Go to the
SOURCES
page
and give each source a unique channel number. (more on this below) In this example, we are setting up one studio with two
faders, two mix minus back-feeds and one program on hold. We will set up three mono source channels:
