This section will detail the installation of the cards into the shelf.
Install Master Ethernet Switch Unit
Danger! To avoid eye injuries, never look directly into a bare or connectorized fiber
end or optical equipment ports. When not in use, connectors should be covered with
protection caps. To avoid cut fiber ends being accidentally ingested or embedded in
skin or eyes by humans or livestock, dispose of loose fiber ends properly.
Warning! Ensure that the fiber connectors are properly cleaned per local standards.
Dirty connectors may result in inaccurate measurements.
Warning! To prevent damage to fibers, maintain a minimum 3-inch bend radius when
handling and connecting fibers.
Alert! Mishandling of electronic components could cause equipment damage or
degradation of performance due to an Electrostatic Discharge event (ESD). OBSERVE
PRECAUTIONS FOR HANDLING Electrostatic Sensitive Devices.
To install the master Ethernet Switch Unit (ESU32 or ESU321)
1. If not already removed, remove the cover by sliding the two cover latches
towards the center and lifting the cover from the shelf.
2. Note that blanks should be left in any unused slots to ensure proper airflow and
