
Confi g-if level for Fast Ethernet
On confi g-if level for Fast Ethernet the user is able to change device’s Ethernet
interface settings. Confi g-if level for Fast Ethernet is activated by entering
command interface fastethernet (or in f) on confi g level --> “
IPx(config-if)#
”
text appears on the screen. Entering ? displays a list of commands for confi g-if
level for Fast Ethernet. To read device settings, the user must return to enable
level by entering command end (or en).
Commands:
duplex auto (d a) - Set Ethernet port communication to automatic identifi cation
(half/full duplex)
duplex full (d f) - Set Ethernet port communication to full duplex operation
duplex half (d h) - Set Ethernet port communication to half duplex operation
end (en) - Back to enable level
exit (ex) - Back to confi g level
ip address (i a) [IP address] [subnet mask] gateway [gateway] - Set IP
address,subnet mask and gateway for Ethernet interface
ip address dhcp (i a d) - Device gets its IP address from the DHCP server
quit (q) - Back to confi g level
speed 10 (s 10) - Set Ethernet port speed to 10 Mbps
speed 100 (s 100) - Set Ethernet port speed to 10 Mbps
speed auto (s a) - Set Ethernet port speed to automatic identifi cation (10/100 Mbps)
