Multiple Gap Function—Link
Anytime a second or third timing function is programmed
into a menu item, the Link function is automatically
activated to YES. The Link feature allows the platen to
move up to the Home position and then come back down
to the next predetermined gap and timing function.
Note:
If the Link function is on YES, the platen arm stays
in the down position. Only the platen moves up to the
Home position and then comes back down automatically
to the next gap setting and timing function. If the Link
function is on NO, the platen arm will rise to the up
position and then the STANDBY button will have to be
manually pressed to start the next timing function.
Figure 2-15
Multiple Timing Functions
There are four timing functions that may be programmed
into the control for any clam or flat menu item.
•
REMOVE IN
•
SEAR IN
•
TURN IN
•
SEAR/TURN IN
These are arbitrary names given as place holders for
performing different cook functions. If more than one
function is programmed, the Link function is automatically
activated (See Multiple Gap Function—Link.)
Pressing function one, function two, or function three will
bring up the next function in the list. A multi-function
Cook cycle is useful when cooking products that are
extremely thick or products that have varying
thicknesses. It is also useful for performing secondary
operations like adding seasoning or cheese for a melting
operation. It can also be used to apply more or less
pressure during various gap stages or functions.
Example: The SEAR IN function may be used to:
•
Apply more or less pressure on the product
•
Add seasoning
•
Add cheese
•
Perform any other desired operation
Note:
As many as three timing functions for each clam
or flat menu item can be used. For each function, a Time,
Alarm, and Gap setting are also required.
XXX SECONDS:
This key displays the time associated
with that function in seconds. To increase or decrease the
seconds setting, press and hold the Up or Down arrow
keys.
Alarm AUTO/MANUAL:
This key displays the current
status of the Alarm mode. Pressing the key toggles the
mode to the opposite selection.
If “Alarm: AUTO” is selected, the alarm will sound at the
end of the Cook cycle automatically and then stop after
5 seconds have elapsed.
Selecting Alarm: MANUAL requires the operator to press
the RAISE or STANDBY buttons, or press anywhere on
the display screen to stop the alarm.
GAP:
Each timing function has an associated gap
setting. This setting can be changed by pressing and
holding the Up or Down arrow keys to increase or
decrease the gap value. If UNITS is set to English, the
gaps can be changed by .005 inches. If UNITS is set to
Metric, the gaps can be changed by 0.1 mm.
Note:
The gap range is from 0 in. to 1 in. (0 mm to
2.54 mm). Operating the grill to cook products thicker
than 1 in. (2.54 mm) will not allow proper platen
operation.
Upon completion of all programming selections, save the
selections by pressing the OK key. To return to the main
display screen without saving the programming
selections, press the EXIT key.
