4.3.4 Pick-up overload protection feature
In order to prevent damage, the pick-up is
equipped with a torque protector in the drive
mechanism. When there is overloading, the
power flux is interrupted by the breaking of
shear bolt M8 x 45 8.8 DIN 931 (a) and pick-
up stops. When shear bolts are being
changed, only top quality bolts are to be
used.
Operating the machine
Spare bolts are stored at the left-hand for-
ward corner of the main frame (b).
OC23 has a torque limiter incorporated in the
pick-up drive system. When overload occurs,
power is interrupted by an outwardly-acting
pin type safety clutch causing the pick-up to
stop.
