3.4 Function
This fully automatic filling system is designed for the fully automatic filling of
unvented (depressurized) heating installations in the event of a pressure drop.
If a heating water conditioning set (optional accessories) is connected to the
device, the heating installation can be filled with softened water (HWE), completely
demineralized water (HVE) or pH-stabilizing water (HVE Plus).
The fully automatic filling system automatizes the first filling and the refilling of the
heating installation and monitors the system pressure.
Should certain parameters be exceeded, the system will interrupt the filling
process. If a water conditioning set is connected to the device, the HVA will also
interrupt the filling process when the cartridge‘s capacity (softening or complete
demineralization) is depleted. This ensures that the installation is always filled
with treated water.
A leakage detector prevents uncontrolled filling of the heating system.
The control unit with an integrated LAN connection is equipped with an electronic
water metering device (by means of a turbine), an electrically-driven shut-off
valve, a pressure sensor for the control of the filling and refilling as well as
a multifunctional display. When mounted and connected to the Internet, it is
permanently connected to a server via a coding and sends the relevant data to
the latter after the query.
A mains adapter ensures the power supply of the control unit. The scope of
delivery includes batteries for the short-term protection in case of power failure.
A connection flange connects the fully automatic filling device to the potable
water network. It is equipped with a check valve, a servicing valve with a drain
and a test port for the check valve.
The pressure reducing valve ensures a stable (set) outlet pressure, thus
protecting the heating installation against overpressure during the filling process.
The BA backflow preventer prevents the back-siphonage, backpressure or
backflow of non-potable water into the public and domestic drinking water network.
The backflow preventer is a compact protection device with controllable
disconnection (three-zone-system)
When activating the apparatus, the system automatically makes a first filling.
Then, it will switch to the normal operating mode and monitor the installation to
detect pressure drops. In case of a pressure drop, the shut-off valve will open
and the installation wil be refilled until reaching the desired pressure.
