Type a name for the scan by which you can identify it
in the list of scans.

Run a custom scan
When you run a custom scan, you do not have to redefine
what you want to scan.
To run a custom scan

On the left side of the main window, under Norton
AntiVirus, click
Scan for Viruses
.

In the Scan for Viruses pane, under Task, select the
custom scan.

Under Actions, click
Scan
.
When the scan is complete, a scan summary appears.

When you are done reviewing the summary, click
Finished
.
Delete a custom scan
You can delete custom scans if they are no longer
needed.
To delete a custom scan

On the left side of the main window, under Norton
AntiVirus, click
Scan for Viruses
.

In the Scan for Viruses pane, under Task, select the
custom scan that you want to delete.

If you click the button next to the scan name, the scan
runs.

Under Actions, click
Delete
.

Click
Yes
to verify that you want to delete the scan.
Schedule scans
After installation, Norton AntiVirus automatically runs a
weekly full system scan. You can also set up a schedule
for custom virus scans.
