Installing the Backplane
Installing the Backplane into the Chassis
1. Ensure that all of the hard drive carriers have been removed from the bays in
the front of the node (see 6-4 Installing and Removing Hard Drives).
1. Power down the system and remove the power cord from the rear of the
power supply as described in Section 6-3. Remove the node from the chassis
as described in Section 6-4 and place the node on a fl at, stable surface.
2. Remove the node cover (see 6-6 Removing the Node Cover) from the node.
3. Place the backplane to the rear of the hard disk drive (HDD) cage.
4. Secure the backplane using the six screws to rear of the HDD cage.
5. Reconnect all cables and return the hard drive trays to their bays in the front
of the motherboard node.
