3.4.17 Handing the Engine with Diesel
Particulate Defuser
(
DPD)
The DPD purifies particulate matter (PM)
contained in the exhaust gas. It traps PM in the
DPD filter, and when a certain amount of PM is
accumulated in the filter, the DPD automatically
removes the PM by combustion (regeneration of the
filter).
DPD regeneration has 2 types such as automatic
regeneration,and manual regeneration .
1) Automatic Regeneration
While the machine is in operation, regeneration
is automatically performed based on the instruction
from the engine controller (ECM).
When machine is auto regeneration, icon
is lighting on the discreen
,
green lamp of operation
box is lighting at the same time.
The engine speed may rise while while idling.
When this occurs, the DPD is in process of
automatic regeneration. This does not indicate a
failure .Also, it is not required to operate the DPD
switch .When the engine is stopped during
automatic regeneration, the regeneration operation
is interrupted, but it is automatically resumed when
the engine is restarted.
When this situation repeatedly occurs the
automatic regeneration can not be completed,
therefore a manual regeneration is required. It is
recommended not to stop the engine as much as
possible while automatic regeneration is in
progress.
2) Manual Regeneration
If the automatic regeneration can not be
completed by some reason, the manual regeneration
is requested to operator by blinking the orange DPD
indicator light on the button operation box and on
the display
,
two icons will be flicker, may with
warning
DPD Steps of hand regeneration
1.Perform regeneration at a place free of
flammable material such as a plant .dried grass
