shows the robot for the L180 library. The robot is located behind the

front door and consists of:

Theta assembly for lateral movement

•

Z assembly for vertical movement

•

Hand-camera assembly to mount and dismount cartridges

Most of the robot components are mounted on the Z column. The robot moves
cartridges from the storage cells by rotating the Z column, moving the hand up
and down the Z column, and reaching into a storage cell to grip a cartridge.
