Power System
Power Considerations
In the library, some combinations of input voltage and current, drive type, and
plug type limit the number of drives that can be installed. See the following
paragraphs for details.
At 120 to 127 VAC
You may install the maximum number of drives in the library if the power
source at the site is 120 to 127 VAC:
• 10 DLT drives (with or without Power Factor Correction [PFC])
• 10 LTO Ultrium drives
• Six 9840/T9840s and one DLT or one Ultrium drive
You may do so even if the library is connected to a single AC circuit.
At 200 to 240 VAC
Table A-4 on page A-5 lists the maximum number of drives that you may install
in the library if it is connected to a single 220 VAC circuit.

1. Numbers in this table include library robotic requirements.
2. You must use a locking plug on the library when it contains a non-PFC DLT drive.
3. PFC power supplies have less leakage current and lower peak current demand on
the AC input.
