5.6 Cycle Selection
Touch-screen Pads
Four cycle selection touch pads are shown on the screen in
Figure 5-8 . These pads display the basic parameters of the cycle
• Cycle name
• Sterilization exposure temperature
• Sterilization exposure time
• Dry time
Additional cycles may be selected by pressing MORE CYCLES.

The AMSCO 400 Series Steam Sterilizer control can be programmed
to retain values for up to 12 separate cycles. User-defined cycle
names can be entered for cycles 1 and 2 on the cycle selection
screen.
• Prevacuum Sterilizers – The first six cycles (1 through 6) are
the factory default cycles and are routinely displayed on screen
#1 (press MORE CYCLES to access cycles 5 and 6). Up to six
additional cycles can be programmed and displayed.
• Steam Flush Pressure Pulse (SFPP) Sterilizers – The first five
cycles (1 through 4) are the factory default cycles and are
routinely displayed on screen #1 (press MORE CYCLES to
access cycle 5). Up to seven additional cycles can be
programmed and displayed.
Important: Applicable cycles have been validated to satisfy the
requirements outlined in Table 1 and Table 2 . If cycle parameters
(sterilize time, dry time, temperature) other than those listed are
required, it is the responsibility of the healthcare facility to follow the
device manufacturer’s written instructions.
