TEC Trip-o

The TEC current source has an intrinsic compliance voltage of
±
8.5 V.
If the user needs to assure that the TEC voltage cannot reach that
hardware limit, then
TTVL
,
together with
the
TVLM
command, can
configure the TEC to turn o
ff
when the voltage exceeds the
TVLM
value.

The TEC current source always limits its magnitude of the output
current to the value set by
TILM
. This limit can be reached during
large temperature transitions (when it essentially imposes a temper-
ature rate limit), or at the ultimate cooling or heating limits of the
thermoelectric cooler being used. Ordinarily, this limiting is a normal
occurance during operation. For certain critical situations, however,
the user may wish the LDC500 to automatically shut down the TEC
if the TEC current limit is reached. The
TTIL
command enables this.
