• To stop drawing the geofence and discard it, press the menu button and select Remove Geofence. A message
will ask you if you are sure you want to remove the geofence. Select Remove and press
Enter
to remove the
geofence. Select Cancel to continue drawing.
• When you have the geofence you want press
Enter
*, Press the menu button and select Finish Geofence, then
press
Enter
.
• If another geofence is already active, a message will appear asking if you’d like to make this geofence active
instead. Choose Yes or No and press
Enter
.
*TEK 2.0 does not support complex polygons. If you try to create geofences that overlap, you will see a warning
message asking you to edit the geofence. Press Enter to select OK. You will be taken back to the map to adjust the
points that overlap.
The TEK 2.0 will support (100) geofences (only one can be active at a time). If you try to create another one, a
message will appear asking you to delete an existing geofence first. Press
Enter
to select OK
GEOFENCE INFO
A scale bar below the map will show you the size of your geofence.
Info Fields at the bottom of the screen display information about your cursor’s location -- Heading from last
geofence node above Leg Distance from last geofence node in lower-right.
To see the name or description of any area of the map, simply let the cursor hover over it. The information will
appear below the map, the same way it does on the Map Page when you are in panning mode.
Press
Menu
to view two options:
Finish Geofence
and
Cancel
. Finish Geofence exits the Draw Geofence Mode and
returns you to the Add A Geofence Page while Cancel closes the menu.
GEOFENCE DETAILS
The Geofence List shows a list of all the geofences that have been added to the TEK
2.0 Handheld.
The active geofence appears in the selected color, while inactive geofences appear
in gray.
To see the details for a geofence, highlight the name and press the right arrow
button or
Enter
to bring up a menu. You can also edit the following settings here.
Name
Highlight Change Name and press the right arrow button or
Enter
to bring up a
keyboard and edit the name.
Edit
• Highlight Edit and press the right arrow button or
Enter
to display the geofence,
with the nodes visible.
• Use the arrow buttons to move the select tool to highlight the node you would
like to edit, then press
Enter.
• The selected node will change shape and color to indicate that it is the node that will be moved.
• Move the cursor and node to a new location and press
Enter
to place the node at this location.
• Continue to select nodes or create new nodes by selecting a point on one of the geofence borders to place a new node.
• After all editing, press
Menu
and select Finish Geofence.
Color
Highlight Color and press the right arrow button or
Enter
to select a color.
NOTE: the same color can be assigned to more than one geofence, because only one geofence can be viewed at a
time.
