Letters appear on the left, numbers appear on the right, cursor controls appear in the middle with special
characters appearing at the bottom.
Special characters include:
Arrow left
; moves the cursor one space to the left. This does not delete any characters; it only moves the cursor
location.
Arrow right
; moves the cursor one space to the right. This does not delete any characters; it only moves the
cursor location.
Shift
; changes the characters from lower case to upper case letters.
The letters within the keyboard change to show upper or lower case to provide a visual cue as to what the selected
letter will look like.
The upper case letter selection remains selected until the user changes the case selected.
Backspace
; moves the cursor one space to the left while deleting the character that was there.
Clear
; clears the content of the text field being edited.
Okay
; accepts the changes made to the text field and closes the keyboard dialog.
Space
; moves the cursor one space to the right and leaves a blank space behind.
Period.
Comma.
Apostrophe.
Exclamation point.
Coordinates
To change a waypoints coordinates, highlight the field and press
Enter
. The first character will be highlighted. Use
the wheel or the up/down arrows to change the character. Use the right/left arrows to move to the Next character
you want to change, then use the up/down arrows to change that one. When you’re done, press
Enter
to move on to
another field.
Editing a waypoint’s coordinates changes the location of the waypoint on the map. Changing the coordinates can
let you specify a waypoint that has not been traveled to, in order to set it as a destination waypoint.
Elevation
To change a waypoint’s elevation as determined by GPS signal, highlight the number and press
Enter
to bring up a
numeric keypad. Use the arrows to scroll through and press
Enter
to make your selection. Select the checkbox to
return to the details.
The text field is edited with a spin control.
Time/Date
To edit the time and date reported by the GPS signal at the time the waypoint was recorded, highlight the field and
press
Enter
. The first character will be highlighted. Use the wheel or the up/down arrows to change the character.
Use the right/left arrows to move to the Next character you want to change, then use the up/down arrows to
change that one. When you’re done, press
Enter
to move on to another field.
