If no regular measurement of elements with emission lines in the VUV (< 190
nm, e.g. P 178.2 nm) is required, close the external valves of the argon
supply system.
If these kinds of elements are measured regularly (daily), we recommend
leaving the argon supply system open. This ensures continuous flushing
of the optical system and improves the stability of these elements. In
addition, it reduces the time necessary for stabilization after the start of
plasma.

Loosen the pressure clamps of the peristaltic pump and depressurize the
pump tubing by removing it from the retaining clamps.
7.
Switching the instrument off:
Turn the main switch to "Off" (see note).
Switch off the exhaust system.
The instrument is switched off.
Information
If steps 5 and 7 are omitted, the instrument is in the "Instrument Stand-by" mode.
In order to reactivate the instrument, follow the instructions in chapter 5.3, starting
at step 2, see page 24. The stabilization period is significantly reduced.
