Switch on the instrument, ready for operation, plasma start
Information
After switching on the instrument have it stabilize for at least 3 hours to ensure
specification-compliant operation.
This may take longer because this procedure is dependent on the temperature
during instrument transport and/or storage.
Ensure that the operating temperature for the optical system (30 °C (86 °F)) has
been reached before engaging in any other tasks.
The plasma can be started either directly after the instrument has been switched
on or after the stabilization period.
When the plasma is started, a suitable blank sample should be nebulized during
the stabilization period (see no. 7).
To switch on the instrument, proceed as follows:
1.
Turn the main switch to “On”.
2.
Switch on the computer.
The operating system is booted.
3.
Start the instrument's software program ICP ANALYZER PRO after the
operating system has been completely booted.
Allow the instrument to stabilize for at least 3 hours after switching it on
(optical system).
Ensure that the operating temperature of the optical system (30 °C
(86 °F)) has been reached. A longer stabilization period may be required.
The instrument is ready for operation.
4.
Click the plasma icon to open the instrument control parameters:
5.
Purge the sample introduction system for 2 minutes with argon by clicking the
"Purge" button. Ensure that the pressure clamps of the peristaltic pump are
clamped tightly around the sample tubing. This prevents the sample from
getting into the spray chamber or the torch.
