10. Let the acid act for up to 15 minutes (depending on the degree of
contamination).
When heavy contamination must be removed, another suitable acid or
aqua regia may be required.
If there are deposits on the capillary tube, remove them very carefully
with a fine copper wire. Be extremely careful to avoid damage to the
capillary tube.
11. Then flush the nebulizer with distilled water and let it dry completely.
12. Reinstall the components.

Cleaning the spray chamber (standard Scott Chamber)
Warning! Risk of injury!
There may be acid residues or other hazardous residues from sample material in
the nebulizer and the spray chamber.
Observe the corresponding information on hazardous materials.
Warning! Sharp edges!
Glass parts may break when handled incorrectly and cause cutting injuries.
Proceed with due caution and/or take appropriate safety precautions (e.g.,
wear gloves).
To clean the spray chamber, proceed as follows:
1.
Flush the sample introduction system for approx. 10 minutes with a suitable
blank solution, e.g., distilled water for aqueous applications.
2.
Switch off the plasma.
3.
Loosen the Ar connection of the nebulizer.
4.
Loosen the clamp between the Plasma torch and the spray chamber.
5.
Carefully pull off the spray chamber.
6.
Remove the spray chamber.
