Preparing the Host
Note:
Use proper procedures to prevent electro-static discharge (ESD).
Use wrist-grounding straps and anti-static mats when handing
internal components.
Follow these general guidelines:
• Make sure that your backup application supports the SCSI HBA.
• If the host server is connected to a network, check with the system administrator
before turning off power to the server.
• Install a suitably rated HBA. Remember that if there are any SE devices on the same
SCSI bus, the entire SCSI bus will negotiate down to SE speed and severely degrade
performance and limit cable length.
• Make sure that multiple LUN support is enabled on the SCSI HBA.
