Selecting Recording Duration
Waveform Data
In the absence of an alarm condition, the origin of a print request determines the
length of the waveform recording (
ECG
,
ART
,
RESP
, etc.). Recordings begin with a
few seconds of data right before the print request, followed by real-time data.

Selecting Recording Destination
The
Recording Destination
menu lets you direct:
•
Alarm recordings to a bedside printer, a network printer, or both.
•
Other recordings to a bedside printer or a network printer, but not both.
Note:
Twelve-lead ECG reports always print at the ICS printers, if available, regardless
of the recording destination settings.

Alarm Recordings
An alarm recording is a recording that initiates when an alarm condition occurs.
Depending on how your system is set up, an alarm recording can to print
automatically whenever a parameter enters an alarm condition. Alarm recordings
begin with several seconds of pre-alarm waveform data and continue for as long as
the alarm condition exists (or a minimum of 12 seconds).
Continuous Recordings
When you touch the
Printer
icon from the main taskbar, the
Continuous Record
button shows in the lower left corner of the monitor screen and waveform
parameter keys flash for up to two seconds. You must make your selection within
this two-second time period. After you make a selection, the parameter keys flash
for an additional two seconds, which lets you make an additional selection, up to
four total.
Note:
You can print waveform data for parameters that show in a waveform.
To make a recording of selected patient parameters

From the main taskbar, touch the
Printer
icon once. All
parameter keys flash for two seconds.

Touch up to four flashing parameter keys.
The parameters you selected are sent to the printer.
